55 in the Community
January 2006 saw Restaurant 55 hold it's launch night with a Burn's theme in true traditional Scottish style.
All in aid of some truly worthy local causes, 55 showcased its talents and hospitality to friends, family and customers alike. Raising a total of £555 on the night.
Efforts included; a raffle, count the sweeties in the jar, charity auction, reduced bar tariff and charging an entry fee all boosted coffers to the brim!
Special thanks to all those who offered prizes and to Paul & staff @ RG MacDonald Butchers for donating some outstanding haggis to help get mouths watering!
The best known restaurant critic in Elgin popped into 55 a few weeks back and left some encouraging comments on a notepad he left behind. Obviously being a secret shopper he was not allowed to be particularly vocal with his views, but we were all so taken with his work we decided to showcase it here in our community section. So happy to be able to make somebody happy. And in turn a little smile was seen on even the harshest humbug faces around 55 that day!
Thanks Robbie,
We are glad you approve!
Testimonials will be added to the site soon...
