Questions
Can I take lessons before sitting my theory test?
Yes. As soon as you receive your Provisional Driving Licence you can start learning and 1st drive recommend taking lessons as nothing beats practical learning and will help in your preparation to pass your theory test. 1st drive can also supply FREE theory tuition material. Also you will have your 1st drive instructor at hand to offer you friendly advice.
How many lessons should I take to pass?
The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) states that the average number of lessons taken in UK is equivalent to approximately 41 hours of tuition with a professional Instructor. This is of course an average and with the right approach you will in all probability take less. 1st drive’s current average is 35.
How regularly should I take my lessons?
Every one is different and is dealt with as an individual to suit their needs. We at 1st drive do recommend you take lessons in two hour blocks twice weekly. This allows more time in the car to reinforce your learning and lead to tearing up those L Plates that bit sooner. Of course, whether you are taking lessons as you go along or wish to undertake an intensive course we at 1st drive will deliver a programme of lessons to suit your needs and budget.
How do I book my Theory Test?
The best way to book is online at www.dsa.gov.uk. The theory test will cost £21. You must bring along your provisional driving licence and some other acceptable proof of identity that bears your name, photograph and signature.
Where can I sit my Driving Test?
You can sit your Driving test at any official DSA Test Centre. Your 1st drive instructor will advise you of the most suitable Test Centre in your area.
