1st drive Instructor - Douglas
"As I had wanted to be a Driving Instructor for many years, when I was made redundant from my previous job with a firm of Independent Financial Advisers, there was really only one question I had to ask myself, and that was which Driving School to train with. After my initial meeting with the career adviser at 1st drive, and similar meetings with several other Driving Schools, I knew that 1st drive was the preferred company for me, as I felt that they offered me the training and potential future employment opportunities which I sought.
I found my trainer to be extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble for him, and he was always available with any assistance I required. His training methods are designed to have the maximum effect in the shortest time possible.
After qualification, the office staff provided me with the support I required to enable me to start filling my diary in a short timescale. In particular, the Accountancy service which 1st drive provide could not be surpassed, and I really felt that everybody at 1st drive makes a concerted team effort to provide the service which a Driving Instructor requires.
I am really enjoying working as a Driving Instructor, arranging my hours to suit myself, meeting a variety of different people, and knowing that I am teaching pupils a skill which will help keep them safe as a driver for the rest of their life, which ultimately provides me with a great sense of achievement.
Living in Newton Mearns, I will teach pupils in the following areas:- Newton Mearns, Giffnock, Clarkston, Shawlands and Glasgow Southside. They will benefit from learning to drive in a new Toyota Yaris, the "Big Small" car, which was recently launched and is currently being advertised on television.
I can be contacted regarding any lesson enquiries on 0141-616-3105 or 07903 940795 anytime.
If there’s one regret which I have, it would be that I didn't step out of my Comfort Zone of the job I had with the Independent Financial Advisers sooner, and start training and working with 1st drive earlier.
If anyone is giving consideration to a career as a Driving Instructor, I would say "go for it, and go for it now, with 1st drive."
